Location/Division Specific Information

This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and supports the Asset Managed Services (AMS) business within the Instrument and Enterprise Services (IES) division, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Analytical Instruments Group (AIG). AIG delivers analytical technologies and services that help customers accelerate innovation and improve productivity. Within AIG, IES provides service solutions designed to improve laboratory uptime, productivity, compliance, and operational efficiency across the full instrument lifecycle.

How you will make an impact:

The Finance Sr. Analyst will be a key member of the Finance team driving data analytics, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and close activities that support commercial and operational decision-making across a fast-paced, innovative, and global services business. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to help drive profitability and business performance through strategic insights and analytics. The position offers broad organizational exposure and the opportunity to develop within a collaborative and evolving FP&A environment while supporting the continued success of the AMS business.

What you will do:

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to provide financial insights and analyses that support operational and strategic decision-making
• Collaborate with business partners to align revenue forecasts, analyze pacing trends, and identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities impacting financial performance
• Build and maintain forecasting and financial models across revenue, margin, pricing, operating expenses, headcount, and customer agreements including current and future-state P&L scenarios
• Analyze monthly revenue, spending, and headcount results to identify drivers of variances against AOP and forecast and provide accrual recommendations as needed
• Support the annual operating plan (AOP), monthly business reviews (MBR), and quarterly business reviews (QBR) processes
• Lead month-end close activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and support special projects that drive business performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive productivity and scalability through AI, process standardization, and automation of reporting and analytical processes

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business-related field required
• MBA or advanced degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• 3–5+ years of experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or related analytical roles
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and a consistent track record of delivering high-quality work
• Experience with financial systems and data visualization tools such as SAP, Hyperion, Power BI, or similar platforms preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled analytics tools preferred

• Less than 10% domestic and international travel required
