Slate is a commercial cleaning company specializing in after-hours janitorial services for business clients nationwide. Leveraging technology-enabled checklists, photo documentation, and rigorous quality control, Slate delivers consistent, high-quality cleaning solutions.
We are hiring a two-person team (one cleaner, one lead) for an overnight cleaning route covering boutique fitness studios in Richmond and Henrico, VA. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive working independently during overnight hours and are committed to maintaining immaculate studio environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deep cleaning fitness studio spaces, including equipment, floors, mirrors, restrooms, lobby, and retail areas
- Taking before and after photos at each location to document work quality
- Following a detailed bilingual cleaning checklist to ensure all tasks are completed to standard
- Clocking in and out via a smartphone app at each studio stop
- (Lead) Managing inventory of cleaning supplies, placing restocking orders, and coordinating cleaner attendance
- (Lead) Arranging same-night replacements for absent team members
This part-time, on-site position covers overnight shifts (Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday) starting at 11:00 PM and 12:15 AM, with approximately 2 hours per shift. The route requires reliable transportation between Libbie Mill and Short Pump locations.

Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- English proficiency sufficient to follow checklists and communicate effectively
- Able to lift approximately 25 lbs
- Able to do frequent bending, kneeling, and stand for up to 2 hours per shift
- At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the US
- Able to cover both studio locations each shift with reliable personal vehicle
- Available to work overnight route shifts Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 11:00 PM and 12:15 AM
- Able to use a smartphone app to clock in/out and complete digital checklists with photo documentation
- Has a smartphone with a working camera and reliable data/internet during the shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working independently on overnight or after-hours shifts
- Prior commercial or janitorial cleaning experience
- Prior lead or supervisory experience (for lead role)
- Experience following detailed cleaning checklists to complete standardized tasks
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
Benefits
- Competitive hourly pay: $17/hr for cleaner, $19/hr for lead
